The Macuata rugby team are working on their defence as they prepare to face Naitasiri in the second round of the 2017 Skipper Cup competition.

Macuata Rugby assistant coach Milio Toganivalu said yesterday that they need to tighten up their defence since there is no-easy match in this year’s Skipper Cup competition.

“The next match is not an easier one as officials have informed the players to work hard especially on organising their defence during the game,” the former Army hooker said.

“We’ve developing our team and we are still building them up.”

He added that they need to rise to the occasion and become a worthy opponent against the rugby giants.

“We need to pull up and improve on our performance. This game against Naitasiri will not be easy and that is why we are working hard on the team.”

Toganivalu added that since it is the beginning of the season they need to keep on the momentum.

“There are a few areas especially on our defence and we will work on it. The team are aware of on this and we will address it before our next game against Naitasiri.”

Meanwhile, the second round of the competition is set for next Saturday, May 6 since no games will be played this weekend due to the Fiji Rugby Union’s annual general meeting.
