Canberra Raiders Club Boost U-18 With Gear

The Fiji U18 Rugby League team received a major boost ahead of their game against a Canberra Raiders Development side.

Fiji Secondary School Rugby League president Lai Corerega confirmed to SUNsports yesterday the schoolboys side received gifts from the National Rugby League club .

“We were grateful and were fortunate to visit the Canberra Raiders club where the boys were given some boots and other sporting equipment,” Corerega said.

Team manager Naisa Cama acknowledged the club for their generosity.

“We are here at Canberra to acclimatise with the chilly weather,” Cama said.

“The players got a chance to meet there favourite NRL players at Canberra Raiders Club.

“We want to thank the club for paying all our expenses down to Canberra.”

The Fijians are anticipating an exciting battle today as they prepared to give the Raiders development side a good run.

“We have been working on defence and also strengthen our communication, we look forward to a good game against the Raiders,” Cama said.

Following their first game today the Fijian U18 side will return to the Sydney Academy of Sports on Friday to have their recovery session and a light gym session on Saturday and Sunday before their next round of games next Monday.

The side will travel to the Central Coast and play against Country Rugby League development team and Newcastle. The team will play their last two matches against the Bulldogs development team and the Australian Fijian side on Friday week.
