Courts Needed For Labasa Netball Revival: Nasekula Coach

The lack of a proper ground to host weekly matches has been the major hindrance for a revival of netball in Labasa.
This was the comment from one of the Labasa netball committee members Ilisapeci Qabale in an interview yesterday with the Fiji Sun.
“The North needs an all-weather court for the netball lovers in the area,” Ms Qabale said.
She said the teams anticipated a revival of the sport in the North because the last matches were held in 2013.
Nasekula Bluez coach Asenaca Talatu said; “We need a netball court in Labasa because we have keen netball players to stay in shape and develop their skills.
“The Subrail Park ground is usually booked for rugby and other matches; the tennis court is too small and because the sport has financial constraints, we cannot book for other grounds.”
The same sentiments were echoed by Wailevu Blacks coach, Alumita Tamanilatui who said they had halted all their training because there was no point when there were no matches to prepare for.
“Both men and women who have a heart for the sport here in Wailevu are requesting for the sport to be revived,” she said.
