A 26-year-old man charged for unlawful cultivation of illicit drug will be sentenced by the High Court in Suva on May 19. The matter was called before Judge Justice Salesi Temo yesterday.
Isikeli Naqau between October 1, 2015 and December 14, 2015, at Kadavu planted 321 plants of cannabis sativa weighing 6.9 kilograms.
Naqau had pleaded guilty to the offence last year and had told the court that he had cultivated drugs because of peer pressure.
His bail has been extended.
The case has been adjourned to May 19, for sentencing.
