Passengers who use the Raiwaqa buses as a mode of transportation will be able to enjoy the seven-newly imported buses next week.

Raiwaqa Buses Ltd director Krishan Kumar said the company imported the buses to improve their customer service.

The buses will cover the same route that the company is serving now.

The routes are Narere and Raiwaqa.

Mr Kumar said each bus cost $185,000.

“It was altogether a $1.3 million investment. The buses were imported from Indonesia,” he said.

“We want to improve our customer service because our Government has given us a good opportunity to import new buses, through the 10 per cent import duty reduction on public transports.

“So we are taking advantage of that.”

He said the company would replace the old buses with the new ones.

The company owns about 50 buses and the last time it had imported new buses was in October last year.
