Village profiling for the province of Tailevu could take up to three years.

This is according to the Roko Tui Tailevu Iliesa Delasau responding to a question by Tokatoka District representative Rusiate Korovusere during the Tailevu Provincial Council meeting on Bau Island yesterday.

Mr Korovusere asked if the village profiling budget of $5000 was enough for more than the 120 villages of the Tailevu province.

He also asked if the provincial office and the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs would consider using school leavers in the villages to conduct village profiles.

This would save time and a way of using school leavers in productive activities.

Roko Tui Mr Delasau responded that the $5000 budget was only recommended for the districts with a certain number of villagers.

Mr Delasau acknowledged the district representative’s suggestion saying it was the kind of suggestions that were welcomed in events as such.

“We thank you for coming forward with the idea, this is the place to raise this and give your ideas and yes the allocated budget is to also help conduct training for school leavers in the villages,” he said.
