Depots Now Managed By FRA, Bala Clarifies

All depots that were once managed by the then Public Works Department are now managed by the Fiji Roads Authority.
Minister for Local Government and Infrastructure and Transport Parveen Bala confirmed this while responding to the Opposition MP Aseri Radrodro.
Mr Radrodro queried on the arrangements now in place for all depots around Fiji which were managed by the then PWD.
There are five depots in the Central Division, 19 in the Northern Division, seven in the Western Davison and nine in the Eastern Division.
He said FRA was utilising all the depots and had leased the depots on a commercial basis.
In a supplementary question, Opposition MP Niko Nawaikula said the depots were now run down and needed to be cleaned and repaired.
Mr Bala responded that all the depots were leased to FRA and they were looking into it.
