Town FC Strikers Secure Win

Town FC recorded a 2-0 win over Bulileka FC during the A Hussain and Company Limited sponsored- Labasa Football Association’s local League competition at Subrail Park yesterday.
Town FC president Dalip Chand said he was thankful to strikers Ravikash Krishna and Sonal Sanjesh for scoring the goals that ensured the victory.
Krishna, a former Labasa rep scored the first goal in the 15th minute while Sanjesh slotted in the second goal right on the 45th minute.
“We are thankful to the league organisers for giving such opportunity for our players to come out and utilise their talents,” Chand said.
“I’m hopeful that they are going to identify some potential players that will go on to represent Labasa during the Vodafone Premier League and later on to international level. My team comprises of students and young men that have recently started work.
They are now training under the guidance of coach, Sanjeev Prasad.”
Bulileka FC coach Saren Singh said his players did not stick to their game plan.
“However, we need to spend more time into training so they can improve on their fitness. We still have more matches to play and definitely we will bounce back.”
Labasa FA local League chairman Shameer Hassan said the winners of this competition would walk away with $1000.
“We’re progressing and also by the end of May we will start the veteran’s local league competition as well,” he said.
