The Suva Retailers Association elected new office bearers at the Fiji Club in Suva on Thursday, last week.

Nominations for all the board members, treasurer, secretary and vice-presidents were accepted.

However, the position for president went for elections and was hotly contested and worn by Vinay Kumar of GM Mahesh Syndicate.

Mr Kumar, who has been part of the board for few years, said he wanted to see changes happen.

“Suva Retailers Association has been a bit dormant on  some of the pressing issues faced by the Suva retailers and the association needs to work with its members to address these issues.”

Discussions are expected to take place this week on pertinent issues facing the association and the retailing sector.

The new executive members are: president – Vinay Kumar, vice-presidents – Jitesh Patel), Raju Raniga and Jiten Patelsecretary – Selva Reddy, treasurer – Vinod Kumar.

Board members: Nilesh Patel, Rakesh Bulsara, Kishore Maneklal, Sean Chow, Rajnesh Lala, Vinod Kumar, Salendra Narayan and Paresh Chauhan.
