2017 Fiji International Again Gets Strong Sponsor Support

The 2017 Fiji International’s partners have once again echoed their support of the tournament following the annual sponsors forum.

Held at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa, some of Fiji’s most notable brands and organisations gathered to celebrate another year of supporting the biggest international event on the country’s calendar.

The networking event provided the opportunity for all partners to provide valuable feedback to the Fiji International team on what they would like to see implemented or improved on in future editions of the tournament.

Two major sponsors in the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa and Fiji Airways were among attendees who echoed the fantastic work the Fiji International does in encouraging the growth of golf, showcasing the country and all it has to offer at the same time.

The Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course will again host a field of international stars as well as tournament staff, and Director of Leisure Sales and Marketing for the InterContinental Golf Resort and Spa Hudson Mitchell says the first class resort had no hesitation in backing the Fiji International.

“The InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa has been a constant sponsor of this annual event since its inception,” Mitchell said.

“The event forms part of our Brand Partnership strategy and allows us to be able to not only be associated with, but appeal to a more niche and premium demographic with a greater disposable income.”

Mitchell said coverage of the tournament has grown since its inception in 2014 and exposure to sponsors continues to grow internationally.

“With the media reach now extending past Australia and New Zealand and now reaching deeper into Asia, Europe and North America, this event exposes our Resort to more people around the world.

“The Fiji International is synonymous with sports tourism and we are delighted to align ourselves with this premium event.”

Fiji Airways will also continue their support of the Fiji International and have signed on once again as the Official Airline partner.

The airline’s CEO Andre Viljoen further echoed the Fiji International’s effectiveness at reaching a target market for their growing organisation.

“Fiji Airways is again pleased to be the Official Airline of the Fiji International.” Vijoen said.

“This is our third year sponsoring this premium event and it’s been a partnership that’s been mutually valuable for both parties.

“It has helped us reach the niche golfing market and opened Fiji up as a golf destination to a new audience. We look forward to another great year of golf in paradise.”

The Fiji International is a world class tournament which requires the collaboration of a world class team to stage it; the 2017 Sponsors Forum is key component to this success.

To be held from August 17-20 the Fiji International will be played at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course which boasts breathtaking views of the Coral Coast and is home to the Natadola Beach Land Estate.
