Labasa Football Boss Confirms AGM Date

The Labasa Football Association (LFA) will be having their annual general meeting (AGM) on Sunday at 11am at the Nationwide Travel Service in Labasa.
LFA president Riyaz Khan said yesterday that during the AGM there would be elections held for the post of president, treasurer, secretary and vice-presidents.
But so far the current executives are likely to be retained unopposed.
“There have been no nominees received so far,” Khan said.
“We have been having the AGM every year. I’ve been the president for four years now. The officials and players are in good relationship and know what needs to be done.
“We are having the AGM not because the Vodafone Fiji FACT is coming near, but because it is marked on our calendar.”
Khan said a major issue they are going to discuss in the AGM is about securing a major sponsor.
He said they are grateful to Advanced Parts and Spares Limited for sponsoring the team during the Vodafone Premier League competition.
“Now we’ve to get a sponsor to enable us to send our team to the Fiji FACT.
“We’re having discussions with some companies but hopefully in a few days time we hope to seal a deal with one of them.”
