Netball Revival Boosts Bua

The Bua Netball Association hopes to tap onto the raw talents of the young girls in the province and develop them into becoming better players. This was after Netball Fiji sent in their officials to conduct coaching clinics in Nabouwalu and help BNA revive the sport after a lapse of 15 years.

BNA president Kelera Ratucove has confirmed their affiliation to Netball Fiji and is confident of a successful season.

“We have revived the sport after fifteen years and it was good to see teams from Bua coming out in numbers to participate in the local competition,” she said.

“There are talents in this province and we hope that we will expose them this season as we aim to participate in the Interdistrict Championship this year.”  Ratucove indicated that they would scout for players during their weekly competition.

“We are going to select our pool of players during the weekly competition for the IDC,” she added.

Meanwhile, during the BNA knockout competition last Saturday, Service won the final after beating Kanawai 8-6.

“We’re grateful to Netball Fiji for donating two trophies for us to use in the weekly competition and also their officials who came to Nabouwalu last week to conduct the clinics.”
