The trial date has been set for a 32-year-old man charged with aggravated robbery.

The matter was called before Justice Vincent Perera at the High Court in Suva yesterday.

The trial of Joseph Christopher is set from February 19 to 23, next year.

It is alleged that on November 17, last year at Nabua, he stole $3400 cash.

State lawyer Shirley Tivao informed the court that they would not be relying on the caution interview statement.

She further said that they would be presenting four witnesses for the trial and they had anticipated that it will be a one week trial.

Christopher, who is representing himself, informed the court that he would be calling two witnesses and further asked for a court order to see a doctor.

He said that there were no doctors in the remand centre currently. There was only a medical orderly.

Justice Perera asked Ms Tivao to check the remand centre to see what facilities they have.

The case has been adjourned to May 9, for mention.
