2 charged with Manslaughter further remanded

Two men charged for the manslaughter of a 23-year-old man have been further remanded by the High Court in Suva yesterday.
The matter was called before Justice Salesi Temo.
It is alleged that on July 5, last year at Nausori, Bai Durimata and Sanaila Noka caused the death of a 23-year-old man.
State lawyer Taitusi Tuenuku informed the court that Durimata and Noka were allegedly drinking with the victim at the Whistling Duck nightclub after a rugby match.
He further stated that Durimata allegedly punched the victim and then both the accused allegedly stomped him.
Mr Tuenuku informed the court that the victim was taken to the hospital on July 8 and he died on August 13 last year.
The court heard that according to the medical certificate, the cause of death was due to severe traumatic injuries.
Durimata and Noka were represented by Defence lawyer Lisiate Qetaki.
The case has been adjourned to May 30, for mention.
