A man appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday charged with dishonestly causing a loss.

The matter was called before Magistrate Kashyapa Wickramasekara.

Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Apanisa Keresoni served full phase disclosures.

It is alleged that Vishaal Nand, between April 1, 2013 and September 30, 2013, at Suva, fraudulently obtained $56,005.12 worth of electronic recharge top ups from Vodafone Fiji Limited and dishonestly caused a loss of $56,005.12 to the company.

Defence counsel Amrit Chand made a verbal bail application.

Magistrate Wickramasekara has granted Nand a bail sum of $5000 with two sureties who have signed a surety bond of $2000 each.

The bail conditions are that Nand is not to offend, is not to interfere with the prosecution witnesses, is to report to the Nakasi Police station every Monday and Thursday.

A stop departure has also been imposed and Nand is required to surrender all his travel documents.

The case has been adjourned to June 6, for plea.
