Thankful that her parents helped look after her children

Sacrifice is important if you want to move ahead, says 24-year-old Bachelor of Education (Secondary) graduate, Adi Unaisi Ranadi.

Ms Ranadi, a mother of two from Kalabu, Naitasiri, was among 616 Fiji National University students who graduated at Novotel Suva Lami Bay Convention Centre yesterday.

Being a mother it was not easy, but she had to make sacrifices to better her career and support for her children.

“I have faced a lot of things in life after I finished high school where I have even heard from my relatives to not study and waste money,” Ms Ranadi said.

“I was a stay-at-home mother before my parents told me to study. They said they would look after my children.

“It is an honour for me to have such great parents who supported me throughout the past three years of my tertiary education.”

She is a first year teacher at Gau Secondary School.
