Out of curiosity, Venkat Swamy Naidu decided to travel from Nadi to Suva just so he could see the face of the winner of the $45,000 car.

But this curiosity turned to pure luck when he drove away with it yesterday.

He is now the proud owner of the Mitsubishi Attrage.

Vodafone Fiji in partnership with Hansons Supermarket handed him the keys as part of the Hanson’s Text and Win Promotion.

Mr Naidu leaped with joy.

“I came this morning just to see who the winner would be. There was not a small thought that I would be that lucky person,” he said.

He texted only once to try his luck, he said.

“I came by Sunset bus and now I will be driving my new car back home. This is a blessing,” he said.

Mr Naidu added that he wished there was a Hansons Supermarket too in Nadi.

“I can’t wait to reach home and celebrate the win with my family,” he said.

The 57-year-old is a retired employee for Fiji Hardwood Corporation Ltd.
