Fijian Crafted Village, Popular At The Expo

The Fijian Crafted Village was very popular at the Fijian Tourism Expo .
The expo took place at the Denarau Island Convention Centre at the Sheraton Fiji Resort on Denarau last Thursday and Friday.
These sellers sold authentic and quality artifacts made by registered artisans under the Fijian Crafted initiative.
Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources Faiyaz Koya said he was pleased to announce the Fijian Crafted Village had again tremendously succeded.
“The overall purpose of this village is to showcase to you, our international partners, our authentic Fijian crafts, not only the high standards in terms of quality but depict the unique cultural diversity of our rich Fijian heritage.
“These crafters come here each year to establish new market links and make direct sales.
Mr Koya added this year 16 crafters had received orders valued at more than F$12,000 from companies such as Jacks Fiji and tourism operators like Wananavu Resort, Musket Cove, Radisson Blu, Marriott Resort and Castaway Island Resort.
They achieved sales of more than $1,200 for the last two days, he says.
“I thank you all for contributing towards the livelihoods of our Fijian crafters and I hope you enjoy the small piece of Fiji that you have purchased.
“Please continue to engage more with our local craftsmen and artisans and promote the Fijian made-Buy Fijian brand as much as possible,” said Mr Koya.
