Group Releases Ninth Volume

Popular band Savu Ni Delai Lomai recently released their ninth volume titled “Veivosaki Mosimosi”.
Garam Masala sat down with the band’s lead singer and composer, Semi Kaitani to talk on upcoming events and what fans can expect from the volume.
“The volume contains 10 songs and are all I-Taukei originals written and composed by the band itself and genres include reggae and a few slow songs,” said the Lomaiviti native.
Some of their popular songs are Mositi YauLini, Vakasuva, Au Mosita Na Veikilai Qo and Lutudromo which is currently a hit now.
Mr Kaitani has been doing music for the past 15 years based in Lautoka. The band was formed in 2007 and the four members are all related and currently work at Laucala Island Resort.
“Since we work in the resort now we don’t perform as much as we use to, even with this volume it took us a year to record,” he said.
One of the challenges the band faces is piracy of their music, so it’s important for fans to buy original to support local artists and their music.
They thank God for their talent, the support of their family and friends, and Procera Music Fiji for supporting them in their music over the past 10 years.
“My advice to other artist or bands out there is nothing is impossible, do music with all your heart and stay humble,” he added.
Band members include Semi Kaitani, Lote Cokanasiga, Lepani Cokanasiga, and Mitieli Naivalu.
Savu Ni Delai Lomai will be holding a concert on May 20th (Saturday) at the Girmit Centre in Lautoka to officially launch their ninth volume.
Expect a Christmas volume for the band as well at the end of this year.
The volume is now on sale and can be purchased at any Procera Music outlet in Suva.
