Naitasiri Beat Macuata

Naitasiri ran in four tries to beat Macuata 22-13 in the Skipper Cup match at Navuso yesterday.
The Highlanders were too strong and well organized to win on a rain soaked ground.
What happened: Naitasiri started the match strongly and were awarded a penalty try in the 16th minute which set the platform for victory.
Macuata’s Atunaisa Maitoga kept the side in the match with a penalty to close the gap 7-3 in the 18th minute before Naitasiri hooker Mosese Gavidi and Meli Nakarawa scored for the Highlanders to lead 17-3 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Naitasiri continued the momentum and scored their fourth try through Etati Kasaqa to increase their lead 22-3.
Macuata’s Opeti Utoni converted a penalty while Emosi Tudravu scored the lone try in the second half as they went down to a gallant Naitasiri side.
The match saw three players sent off for dangerous play as players lost their cool. Naitasiri’s Frank Lomani and Cyril Reece and Macuata’s Viliame Gonevulavula were yellow carded.
Star Turn: Naitasiri number eight Sireli Kaloucava was the man-of- the match.
Big Play: Naitasiri forwards laid the platform for a well deserved win.
