Bon Voyage head of travel Holidays Gordon Bayne said they were proud to be associated with Fijian Tourism Expo.

The expo took place at the Denarau Island Convention Centre at Sheraton Fiji Resort on Denarau last Thursday and Friday.

It is Fiji’s premier tourism industry event, hosted by Tourism Fiji, the event provides a cross-sectoral platform for partners in the tourism industry to engage directly with international buyers and travel trade media.

“Bon Voyage and it looks at luxury travels and it so exciting to see new products developing and open in Fiji,” Mr Bayne said.

The two-day event has been very efficient and economical, he says.

“It gives us more time to see the destination and experience the island resort and the limited time that we were able to travel out of the office,” said Mr Bayne.

Bon Voyage in Australia is an online travel company.

“We love working with Radisson, Sofitel and Likuliku, and Malolo and all the way down to the coral coast, Coral Sun and Volivoli.

Mr Bayne added they are impressed with the quality of the cuisine.

“Gone are the days where people use to just expect burgers, chips and pizzas in resorts.

“And of course there is no better place to come than to Fiji.

“Fiji is the idle place for romantic getaway or honeymoon.

The expo was officially closed on Saturday by Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Land and Mineral Resources Faiyaz Koya.

Mr Koya thanked all the sellers, buyers and the organisers of the event.

“This year, following the success of the last two days, I am confident that we have taken Fiji’s tourism industry to a level higher for the benefit of the Fijian people,” Mr Koya said.

“I hope this year’s FTE has been enlightening for you as it was for me.

“And I am sure that the 100 sellers that were present this provided you with a spectacular selection of products to sell to your clients back home.”

The closing event was held at the Fiji Marriott Resort, Momi Bay on Friday night.
