Tourism Understanding Critical For Miss World Fiji Contestants

One of the most important aspects of a Miss World Fiji contestant is to promote and showcase Fijian tourist attractions to the world, says Miss World Fiji Director Andhy Blake.
“This is really important because we really want to showcase Fijian tourism to the rest of the world,” he said.
“When the representative from Fiji goes to the international finals, she also talks about some really unique aspects of Fiji. One of them is tourism.
“By doing so we are showcasing what we have in the hopes that we attract visitors and followers to come to Fiji.”
The Miss World Fiji team yesterday was hosted to a cruise and activities by the South Sea Cruises at South Sea Island.
Mr Blake also confirmed that the Miss World Fiji has confirmed venues and a location for the public judging, which will be held at the VMAX Cinema, Darmodar City, on June 5. Tickets will be on sale at $15 each.
“It is affordable for all the public and supporters of the contestants. It is going to be a production preliminary show where contestants are going to be competing in interviews, top model and showcasing their evening gowns,” he said.
The band Inside Out are set to perform at the Miss World Fiji grand finale on June 10 at the Grand Pacific Hotel where tickets will be sold at $100. They will also be sold at FBC.
“It’s going to be a big production and the elements of this year’s show will be very different. We haven’t downloaded any audio to use, but this is just live band and first in any pageant in Fiji,” said Mr Blake.
The Miss World Fiji pageant is among the International Miss World franchise which features 130 countries.
