7s Boost

Olympian Leone Nakarawa visited the Vodafone Fijian 7s team in camp ahead of the 2016 -17 World Sevens Series in Paris this weekend.
Playing for the Racing Metro in the Top14 competition in France, Nakarawa also watched the team during training yesterday.
Nakarawa is a member of the Fijian team who won the gold medal at the Rio Olympic Games last year.
The new squad members Glen Cakautini, Samu Bale, Paula Dranisinukula and Josua Vakurinabuli were delighted with the presence of Nakarawa.
The level of competition to be in the final 12 is getting intense and Vodafone Fijian 7s coach Gareth Baber aims to win his second tournament after their victory during the Hong Kong Sevens last month.
South Africa leads the standings with 157 points, 25 more than Fiji.
Baber and his South African counterpart Neil Powell aim to get the processes right in developing the new players for the future. Especially with the 2018 Rugby Seven s World Cup in San Francisco and Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
It’s always going to prove a steep learning curve for the younger players on the international circuit as there is a slender margin for error.
Players need to follow the right processes and the results will take care of themselves.
A mental step up rather than a physical one is required in order to seal the deal in a now competitive series.
All teams definitely aim to end the series on a winning note.
The Vodafone Fijian 7s will play Samoa at 8pm, Russia at 11.26pm on Saturday and Australia at 3.14am on Sunday.
The Cup quarterfinals begin at 8.28pm on Sunday, semi-finals start at 12.18am while the final will be played at 3.33am on Monday.
