Bertini Supports Begg’s Supermodel Journey

The owner of the Vatulele Island Resort, Albert Bertini, yesterday donated $2500 to the World Supermodel Fiji’s Zaira Begg at the Fiji Police Force Mess in Suva.
Mr Bertini, who has spent more than six years working in Fiji, says the nation has a lot of talented people who are good in sports, fashion, artist, and so forth.
He said his passion in the past years was doing charity work especially providing assistance to talented people.
“I have the passion to help talented people in Fiji, because wherever they go, they are not representing them, but the nation as a whole,” said Mr Bertini.
Ms Begg who was a former Miss Fiji and is a model, dancer and Police officer will be travelling to Macau in China at month-end to join models from 26 countries/regions.
She is competing at the World Supermodel Production and International Fashion Week from May 24 to May 27.
Ms Begg received a wild card invitation to the international finals earlier this year during the Pacific regional finals at the The Pearl Resort at Pacific Harbour in January.
However, she would need $6000 for her travelling expenses.
“This is the good time for me to showcase Fiji and promote local designers and local product,” Ms Begg said.
She said young people can do a lot more with their lives.
“It’s not only about getting in a group to fit in or just hang out.
“There are many opportunity out there, and it doesn’t matter if you don’t have money or resources or anything, you need to find your way.”
Meanwhile, a barrel night is being organised in aid of her trip. It will be held at Onyx Nightclub from 6pm tomorrow night.
Tickets are $20 per head. For further details contact the following: 994-9970, 766-5036 and 990-5999.
