Fireworks are expected to explode at RatuCakobau Park in Nausori when the 2017 Vodafone Fiji FA Cup Tournament (Fiji FACT) kicks off tomorrow.

Acting Fiji FA president Yogeshwar Singh said the fans would expect a lot during the group stage of the tournament in Nausori.

“I can say fans can enjoy the exciting fixtures set up for the three days in Nausori,” Singh said.

Singh said the stage was all set for the exciting twelve matches for the weekend.

“The ground is on a tip top condition and the fans can enjoy the competitive football,” he said.

The former Nausori mayor said there were lot of expectation from the fans around the country and he said the fans would make their money worth.

“I can assure fans that they will not waste their money because all interesting matches will be played in the three days.”

Singh said the fixtures were set in such a way that the four finalist would be decided after the final match.

“We cannot predict the four finalist until final pool match will be played because there is always huge competition amongst team and anything can happen, “Singh said.

He said Fiji FA and Nausori Town Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding last week to make the competition at its best for everyone.

“We have signed an agreement with Nausori Town Council to make the tournament best for everyone,” Singh said.

Council chief executive officer Aktar Ali said the fans would enjoy the tournament in Nausori.

“We have worked overtime to put everything at its best for the fans,” Ali said.

He urged fans to come out in numbers and support their teams.

“I urge fans to come out in numbers as they will enjoy the upgraded facilities at the ground,” Ali said.

Ali said there would be double celebration in Nausori during the weekend.

“People can come and enjoy the games as well as they can have some fun during the Vodafone Tebara Carnival which is been held at Syria Park,” Ali said.

Suva meets newcomers Rakiraki in the opening match at 1pm, minnows Dreketi face neighboursLabasa at 5.30 before hosts Rewa battles Lautoka at 7.30pm.
