More than 100 Assemblies of God pastors in Vanua Levu are in Naduri Village, Macuata, and will undergo a spiritual revival for the next 40 days.
Vanua ko Caumatalevu has consented to the event in the hope that this would help steer the vanua in the right direction.
“We are hoping for positive results where it would assist people have a positive perspective of life and a clear mindset,” the Tui Macuata, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere said.
“There are a lot of societal problems that continue to rise like rape and this is one of the ways that we feel could help address this.”
Assemblies of God Northern Division Presbyter head, Reverend Akuila Qalomaiwasa said: “We had this in Bua three months ago and our next target was Naduri.
“The similar event that we had in Bua is to try and get spiritual revival for the people.
“I believe that once the heart of the people is revived, everything else will follow, even if their economy, qoliqoli, material and other aspects are affected, it will be restored once we are connected to God.
“And we found amazing results in Bua and I believe that is a pattern that will also happen and will take place in locations that we march in. We are hoping for positive results, and our next target is Somosomo in August.
“The intention is go there to the province capitals. And we have finished Bua, now in Macuata, we plan to travel to Somosomo in August and probably in November we will run down to Wailevu Village, Wailevu in Cakaudrove,” he said.
