Hazarat Ali says he has applied for a SODELPA ticket for the 2018 General Election to speak for his district of Seaqaqa in Macuata.

He made the decision after he was approached by iTaukei villagers who are his friends.

Mr Ali, 47, a businessman of Nakasi, near Nausori, is originally from Bureseni Settlement in Seaqaqa.

He said he was proud and excited to stand with SODELPA.

“I have been travelling daily to Seaqaqa for more than a year and many villagers have approached me requesting to represent them in the SODELPA party,” Mr Ali said.

The people in Seaqaqa are mostly sugarcane and root crop farmers. He said they needed help.

“If I win a seat I will focus on improving the living standard of the people and this is my promise,” he said.

Mr Ali said in 2006, he stood for the National Alliance Party Bua Macuata open seat, but lost.

SODELPA head office could not confirm Mr Ali’s application.
