The salvaging of the sunken cargo vessel MV Southern Phoenix is understood to be carried out by an American company, Ardent Global Marine Services.

When Fiji Sun visited the office of vessel owner, Cruz Holdings Fiji Limited in Lami yesterday, company executives were in a meeting with the salvaging team who arrived from Sydney, Australia.

Some of what Fiji Sun have established them to be from the marine salvaging company were in uniforms with the insignia of the Ardent Global Marine Services.

But Cruz Holdings Limited refrained from making any media statement.

And containers and the vessels itself are still at the Suva Harbour.
