The biggest list of local fashion icons will be in this year’s Fiji Fashion Week 10th year anniversary event scheduled in two weeks’ time.

Fiji Fashion Week managing director, Ellen Whippy-Knight, said her team is very excited and working around the clock to make this event the best one ever.

Ms Whippy-Knight said something they were looking forward to was their students and children’s programme, which she said was one of the fastest growth areas.

“We have 14 school students from 10 schools around Fiji taking part in the students fashion show and seminar,” she said.

She said the programme was sponsored by the Ministry of Women, Children, and Poverty Alleviation.

The Business of Fashion Symposium will be presented by five fashion industry experts from Australia and New Zealand and sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

“The designers are all confirmed, the Pacific Island Fashion week show with all 12 Pacific region designers is going to set the pace for the rest of the week,” Ms Whippy-Knight said.

She said their models are in rehearsals at the moment and they could not wait to show off their new faces as well.

Ms Whippy-Knight said: “FJFW is proud of its role in the development of fashion and design education in Fiji and we are grateful for our sponsors support for the past nine years, we wouldn’t have achieved what we have without them.”

She also confirmed that their front row seats in their custom built seating pavilion are sold out. Tickets started at $5 each were purchased from their booth at MHCC in Suva.

The Fiji Fashion Week event is from May 22 to 27 at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
