A High Court clerk charged with one count each of falsification of documents and obtaining a financial advantage has pleaded guilty.

The matter was called before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.

Farzana Bano, who is charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) will be sentenced on June 19.

It is alleged that between January 25 and March 20, in Suva, Bano dishonestly falsified book copies of receipts and revenue collectors’ cash analysis sheets, with the intention to obtaining a gain from the Government entity.

She also obtained a financial advantage amounting to $11,715.60 for herself from the Ministry of Justice. Bano had returned $11,715.60 that she had dishonestly took from the Suva High Court Registry on the previous court sittings.

Bano is represented by Jiten Reddy and FICAC is represented by Sanjana Datt.
