Goundar Shipping Limited managing director George Goundar has made it clear that he cannot stop passengers from sleeping on the passage of his vessel.

Mr Goundar made this after a video on social media showed passengers sleeping on the walkway of the vessel Lomaiviti Princess 3 while travelling to Koro Island on Monday.

He said this was an ongoing issue which was happening to all of his other vessels.

The vessel he said can carry 700 passengers, and their trip to Koro Island this week, he said only had 300. Trips to the outer islands are usually overnight and passengers want to rest, hence the outcome.

He said as long as passengers were comfortable lying on the passage ‘that is alright’.

He however, urged passengers to put an end to this act and use the seats provided.
