The Vodafone Fiji FACT 2017 tournament has been rescheduled for next Thursday.

This has given the teams more time to brush up their fitness and work on their final touches before they take the field at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

Here are five players we need to keep an eye on during the group stage of the tournament:

  • Saula Waqa (Ba): This young striker has stamped his mark during the Vodafone Premier League and is likely to continue his good form into the Fiji FACT. He has been on target on a number of occasions and shoulders the hopes of the Ba fans
  • Edwin Sahayam (Labasa): The Babasiga Lions midfield general is a delight to watch. He controls the midfield and defenders should watch for his long drives which many times have found the back of the net.
  • Gabriel Matanisiga (Rewa): The former Labasa striker is the man Marika Rodu is banking on to be their secret weapon upfront. He has formed a formidable combination with Iosefo Verevou and will cause a lot of havoc upfront if they are not contained well
  • Vereti Dickson (Nadi): He is one of the country’s top goalkeepers. This is Vereti’s opportunity to impress national football coach Christophe Gamel to secure his spot in the national team’s first 11.
  • Peni Finau (Lautoka): The veteran utility player is the man coach Kamal Swamy turns to when the going gets tough. Finau during the Vodafone Premier League has come in as a super sub and rescues the Blues on a number of occasions.
