Vodafone Fijian 7s head coach Gareth Baber has named a strong team for the Paris Sevens which gets underway at the Stade Jean Bouin in France tonight.

Making their debut in the 2016/17 World Sevens Series are forward Paula Dranisinukula and Samu Bale while Glen Cakautini is the 13th player.

Baber said the players worked hard to claim their spot.

“I’m impressed with their performance during training here in Paris,” he said.

The Vodafone Fijians face defending Paris Sevens champions Samoa in their pool opener at 8pm before they take on Russia at 11.26pm.

Their final pool match against Australia will be played tomorrow at 3.14am.

Team: Mesulame Kunavula, Jasa Veremalua, Kalione Nasoko, Setareki Bituniyata, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Paula Dranisinukula, Osea Kolinisau, Waisea Nacuqu, Seremaia Tuwai, Amenoni Nasilasila, Vatemo Ravouvou and Samu Bale. 13th player – Glen Cakautini.
