Nair moves
So Robin Nair is off to join the NFP. Wonder why? Could it have anything to do with his own ambitions for a bigger ride on the COP23 bandwagon not happening?
The now departed PS Foreign Affairs was apparently involved in some territorial skirmishing. This in the countdown to our leadership of this world event.
Things, it is whispered, did not go all his way.
Top service
A group of rural villagers was thoroughly impressed with the service it got from the top officials at the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs yesterday. One of the elderly villagers said: “They are professionals. They were efficient and courteous and they respected us. They recognised that we had come a long way to see them. We were absolutely satisfied with their level of customer service and we say thank you.”
Those involved get the public service medal for the week.
Patients First
This scenario was witnessed at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital recently. The hospital matron suddenly enters the ward announcing: “Patients first please, patients first”
Any visitor would have thought they were next on the list of diners.
$150 transaction
Members of a union are scratching their heads over a $150 transaction that has seen a man walk away with building material for two houses.
The houses have been dismantled to make way for a new development.
Where is Ella?
Tropical Cyclone Ella’s wavering movement around the Fiji group is slowly becoming a joke for most, which is shared on social media. Some have even gone to ‘search for Ella during their work trips in the interior parts of the country.
A status read; “Nanna Ella where are you hiding? I am coming to look for you.”
And while these hilarious outbursts are often refreshing and humorous, members of the community are being urged to stay safe.
Crazy Drivers
A bus company whose drivers are well known for running their buses like crazy was at it again.
This time at Nakasi a little after 6am. It overtook at least four vehicles before returning to its lane avoiding a near accident.
The driver of the on-coming vehicle looked clearly disgusted by such stupidity early in the morning.
