Right Attitude, Good Output: HFC Acting Chief Tells Students

HFC Bank acting chief executive officer, Raj Sharma, told Fiji National University students on Tuesday that it was important to have the right attitude to produce a good output.

Mr Raj told the 252 students at the Vodafone Arena: “There is huge expectation of you from your parents, spouses, employers and the country as a whole.”

“You may also have different expectations from your potential or existing employer.

“It is quite important that such expectations are managed well.

“You may be looking at a pay rise or a job with high salary and likewise the employer may be looking at more from you.”

He said the quality of the output lacked from the new employees. This can be improved if they have a right attitude and willingness to learn.

“This comes with commitment, dedication and perseverance.

“These are the things not necessarily taught in the university, but we are expected to have this.

“When you go out there manage your time, plan your work and ensure that you produce quality output.

“It is also to be noted that at the local front in Fiji, Government has done a lot for education and that includes free bus services for primary and secondary school students and for you all opportunity for scholarship or loan schemes,” Mr Sharma said.

The students graduated from FNU College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies.
