Robin Nair was hoping to play a bigger role in COP23 work.

But he had differences with some Government officials.

In the end he quit his job as Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs in the FijiFirst Government. He has now joined the National Federation Party to contest the 2018 General Elections.

This was confirmed by NFP leader, Biman Prasad, yesterday.

However, he said that he would be disclosing more information on Monday.

When he resigned, Mr Nair had said in an interview with Fiji Sun, he would pursue his passion for writing.

“I will write a lot more with the freedom I have now and smell the roses too.

“I love this country and worked very hard, sometimes seven days a week and now there are others who can carry that forward.”
