Army Green Gracious In Defeat

The Kelemete Koroidimuri captained-Army Green side crashed out of the main Cup quarterfinal of the 30th Fiji Bitter Nawaka Sevens when they were beaten 19-0 by Taveuni.

Army fielded former Vodafone Fijian 7s winger Josua Vici, Alosio Naduva, and veteran Sevuloni Luta.

However, they won the Plate final beating First Light Taveuni 19-12 in a torrid battle.

Army Green coach Jim Volavola said all the teams came prepared.

“It was a good game but it is not the end of the road for the boys,” he said.

“The boys prepared well and we now look forward to other competitions.”

Taveuni winger Mesake Varo was impressive when he scored two tries.

The Northerners came out firing in the first half with Varo scoring two tries as they led 14-0 at the interval.

Marisilino Madigibula scored their third try to seal the win.
