School Sports Australia netball team aims to make a mark in the Digicel Punjas International Secondary Schools Netball Challenge from Tuesday to Saturday at the Vodafone Arena.

Head coach Danielle Edwards said the 25 players are happy to be here.

“We are very excited to be in Fiji to compete and the girls are looking forward to participate in this awesome tournament,”Edwards said.

“This is also a great time to get to know other girls who come from different cultural backgrounds.

“We have the youngest team as 12 girls are between the ages of 16-19 years who come from different schools in Australia.

“It’s also exciting to know some of these girls have played in the national championships and are very talented.

“We are here to do our best and our ultimate aim is to make it to the final on Saturday and win the gold medal”

Edwards is appreciative of the Fiji Netball Association for hosting the tournament.

“We are pleased with the hospitality we have experienced so far.”

Meanwhile, the Aussies face the Fiji Secondary Schools U19 team in their first game at 12pm on Tuesday.
