Nineteen-year-old Rakiraki striker Zynal Hussein is ready to make his Super Premier debut during the Vodafone Fiji FACT 2017 tournament which gets underway at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori next Thursday.

The Lautoka lad is a Year 13 student of Nadi Muslim College and has been playing football for the past 10 years.

“I feel really excited and at the same time looking forward to the Fiji FACT,” he said.

“This will be my first time to participate in a big tournament and play against experienced payers from top teams around the country. This is a big moment for me to be given the opportunity to represent Rakiraki in such a prestigious tournament in the Fiji Football calendar.”

Hussein said he is going to do his best and showcase his talents during the tournament.

“I’m hopeful to make a name for myself in football and get selected into the national team.”

Hussein said former national and veteran Rakiraki striker Salesh Sami ‘Bula’ was always encouraging him to give his best when it comes to football.

“Sami was my neighbour in Lautoka and whenever I used to play back then he was always there encouraging me. He also invited me to play for Rakiraki and took me to meet the officials who I’m grateful had faith in me and gave me this opportunity.

“I also thank my parents for being supportive towards my sporting career and providing me with all the necessary sports gear over the years,” he added.
