Pinto Industries Limited sponsored- Labasa football team are determined to win the Vodafone Fiji FACT 2017 tournament, says a senior official.

Labasa Football Association secretary Varun Anand said yesterday that they want to win for their fans.

He welcomed Fiji Football Association’s call to postpone the tournament due to cyclone threat.

“At first it upset the players but really it allowed us more time to prepare,” Anand said.

“It helped the boys to brush up their moves and also work on their fitness as they prepare for the first game on Thursday. The players were allowed to be with their families for the next two days. However, we are looking forward to make use of the remaining three days to work on areas that we need to improve.”

Anand has urged Labasa fans to come out and support the team at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori during the tournament.

“Their support will boost the morale of the players.”

The Babasiga Lions last won the Fiji FACT title in 2015 when they beat Rewa 2-0 in the final with goals coming from Ravinesh Karan Singh and Taione Kerevanua.
