South Africa Schools Netball captain Amber Petoors will be one the star players to look out for in the Digicel Punjas International Secondary Schools Netball Challenge today.

The 17- year-old who plays Wing Attack told SUNsports yesterday that despite adapting to the humid weather conditions she is looking forward to showcase her talents.

“I’m very excited to be representing my country at this level of competition,” Petoors said.

“Despite finding difficulties in adapting to the humid weather conditions I’m looking forward to our first game.

“I believe in God and I believe that the talent which I’m blessed with comes from him and I feel that I’m just using my gift.”

Petoors said she has faith in her team to do wonders in the tournament as they are determined to win it.

“We will try our best to achieve that. My expectation is just that the girls will gell as a team and play according to what is being instructed by our coach. We need to stay focused in order to achieve our goal,” she added.

Head coach Marietjie Potgieter said she is expecting a tough competition.

“I feel this tournament is a wonderful opportunity for the girls to come and be exposed to the way netball is being played in Fiji. We are looking at taking each game as it comes,” Potgieter said.
