Dozed off
Spare a thought for our Parliamentarians. Sometimes they have to sit there in the Standing Committee meetings for hours listening to submissions from various organisations.
They took their toll on an MP who simply dozed off.
Costly mix-up
A bus driver and a shopkeeper must be cursing themselves after they gave the wrong change. In both cases a $7 note had been exchanged. The driver and the shopkeeper both thought it was $20.
The moral of the story: don’t rush.
Fear factor
There seems to be a perception about fear, participants were told at the Press Freedom Day celebrations at Fiji National University – the fear to express an anti-establishment idea.
The fear, they were told, was unfounded. There is no reason for it. If you want evidence just look at the Letters to the Editor columns of the newspapers.
Tale of two worlds
When you walk into the Ratu Cakobau Park washrooms in Nausori, they are a delight because they are clean. They have been transformed from what they were last year.
It’s a different world when you pay and walk into the washrooms on the other side of town. Only one word to describe their condition: Pathetic.
Sexual harassment
A company driver has lost his job because of alleged sexual harassment.
He touched a female employee’s breast to wake her up. She had fallen asleep on her way home from a busy night shift.
