Trio Favourite For Ladies Open

Merelita McCarthy, Saivora Lenz and Dawi Jee are the top favorites for the 2017 BSP Ladies Open which started at the Fiji Golf Club in Suva yesterday.

Tournament coordinator Ofa Tabunakawai said the trio have shown impressive results after day one and hopes that the favourable weather condition continues in the next two days.

“Dawi, Merelita and Saivora have shown surprising results, we hope they keep scoring well because in golf you need to mentally tough throughout.

“The course was soggy and wet but I think the ladies did very well especially the A graders,” Duncan said.

Following day one results in the gross table Saivora Lenz from Australia leads with 76, Merelita McCarthy in second place with 77 and Dawi Gee 79.

McCarthy leads the nett table with a total of 67, Ofa Tabunakawai second with 69 and Lenz third place with 70.

Nearest to the pin (NTP) on No. 2 is Sainimere Yee,  Agnes Managreve (No.5) and Kesa Strieby took out No.12.

Ufemia Naisara had the longest drive in the first division, Joana Tuitoga in the second division and Seini Lewai in the third division.
