Its Global Business Development (BD) week.

In celebration of this, the sales and marketing team at the Sheraton and Westin Resorts, Fiji are challenging themselves to escalate $2.6 million to new business for their four resorts in one week.

This week the focus is on driving new business – any short leads for the next 3 months and the rest of this year are to be confirmed through face to face meetings and tele-sales.

It is a quarterly event.

Public Relations, Marketing and Communications Manager Ravesi Konrote said: “Globally – over 30 world renowned hotel brands under the Marriott International Hotels umbrella participated in this one week event which ended yesterday.

“Fiji in particular its Sheraton Fiji Resort, Sheraton Denarau Villas, The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa and Sheraton Resort & Spa, Tokoriki Island, Fiji.”

For them the target market is new businesses.

“Local corporate bodies, short haul markets such as New Zealand and Australia. Long haul markets such as China, USA, and Europe just to name a few,” Ms Konrote said.

“Groups such as weddings, meetings, incentives, conferences and events

“It is imperative we capture as much new Business for both short and long haul markets. This will not only help in driving more confirmed bookings for the resorts, but also provides immense exposure for what Fiji can offer our international visitor.

“This is in terms of international standard accommodation. BD Week also gives an outlook on business forecasting for next year.”

“To end the BD Week, the resorts have invited local inbound operators, industry partners, Tourism Fiji, Fiji Airways to get motivated for the remainder of the year.

“As a thank you for their continuous support and to fuel their body and minds with a transforming yoga session, followed by a refreshing breakfast to kick start the day at Flying Fish Restaurant at Sheraton Fiji Resort.”
