The traditional giants of Fiji football Ba have conceded defeat in the Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament after being held to a scoreless draw by Labasa in the last match of Day Two.

The Men-in-Black needed a win to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the tournament. This was after they lost 3-1 to Nadi on the opening day.

It was hard luck for Ba when Labasa played with 10 players in the second half after midfielder Ilisoni Logaivou was red carded.

Ba manager Arvind Singh said they’ve bundled out of contention

“As far as our chance is concerned we are now out of the tournament.

“We have one point after this draw while our two pool opponents Nadi and Labasa have better points than us putting them in a much better position to qualify.

“We played our young players and they played well,” Singh said.

Labasa coach Ronil Lal praised his players for a good game.

“We will miss the services of Ilisoni Logaivau against Nadi who was red-carded in the match but we have other plans and will be there in the semi-final,” he added.
