Fifteen-year old Dawi Jee won the 2017 BSP Fijian Women Amateur Golf challenge after scoring the overall gross of 236 yesterday.

The Year 11 student of Suva Grammar School represented the Fiji Club Golf and dedicated her win to her father.

“I would like to dedicate my win to my father who had been guiding me for the past three days and for being a source of motivation to me,” Jee said.

“My dad said it doesn’t matter if I would win the tournament but just playing to the best of my ability is what’s more important.

“I feel very excited to win this challenge and I am really proud to win while I am still schooling.

“I am also very honoured to have represented the Fiji Golf Club as I was not expecting this win since I struggled in the in the opening day of the competition”

Jee said participating in this tournament was a challenging experience for her.

“I personally faced a lot of challenges during the tournament.

“There was lot of pressure from my parents who had high hopes of me to win the tournament.

“I have also learnt a lot from the experienced players as well.”

Saivora Lenz was the runner up on 237. Rosalind Taufa won the overall nett champion with a score of 215 with Chris Fredericks as the runner up on 220.
