Eight contestants will be contesting the 2017 Miss Nasinu Crown during the Vodafone Millennium Sinu Festival next month.

Vodafone Fiji’s digital and online manager Rizvi Amith said they were delighted to partner with the Nasinu Town Council to sponsor the festival this year.

He said the festival has been staged once again on a bigger scale with their sponsorship last year paving the way for the council and communities to jointly set the stage for retailers, families, contestants and most importantly, charity.

Mr Amith said Vodafone Fiji has been sponsoring the Hibiscus and the Friendly North festivals for a number of years, along with the carnivals across the country to extend the positive benefits through community projects undertaken from the funds raised through the festivals.

“We hope to reap the same benefits for this festival with the aim to uplift the festival to a grand stature and at the same time to benefit the communities,” he said.

The carnival this year will encompass the broad based national theme of Fijian municipalities’ action advocacy on climate change.

In line with this, the Millenium Sinu Festival will convene with the theme ‘Climate Change: Reclaim, Restore and Rebuild’.

“Vodafone is proud to be an enabler in setting the stage for our youths to create awareness and advocate on issues affecting our communities and country,” Mr Amith said.

“I encourage all the contestants to use this platform to the fullest in learning, advocating and becoming better ambassadors of Nasinu.”

The carnival will be held from June 3 to 10 at the Valelevu ground.
