Police are investigating a vehicle which caught fire yesterday.

This is the second incident, only a week after a hybrid vehiclecame to the same demise.

Realtor Cecil James said the incident happened at around 8.15am yesterday at Corbett Street in Lautoka.

Mr James said he was travelling down the road when the engine died.

“I pulled up on the side of the road and noticed smoke coming under the bonnet,” he said.

“I got out and when I opened the bonnet the engine compartment at the bottom was already engulfed in flames.

“I quickly pulled my family out and called the National Fire Authority and managed to put out the fire.”

The vehicle is a Holden Commodore Calais.

Police have confirmed that they are investigating the incident.
