Our Two Make Series Dream Team

Two members of the Vodafone Fijian 7s side were named in the HSBC Dream Team at the end of the 2016/17 World Sevens Series in London.
In the forwards Kalione Nasoko, a nominee for Rookie of the Year joined South Africa’s Chris Dry and Danny Barrett of the USA.
While in the backs veteran halfback Seremaia Tuwai was named at halfback to combine with Blitzboks Rosko Specman with England’s Dan Norton and USA speedster Perry Baker on the wing.
LONDON SEVENS RESULTS
The Vodafone Fijian 7s team took out the Champions Trophy of the London Sevens. The Osea Kolinisau-led side beat Wales 26-14 in the Champions Trophy final. In the quarterfinals they thumped Russia 31-5 before they walloped Kenya 45-5. Canada claimed the bronze with a 22-19 win over the USA. Scotland successfully retained the London Sevens after beating England 12-5 in the Cup final.
HAMILTON TO HOST NZ SEVENS
Former NZ sevens star Liam Messam is backing Hamilton to turn on a great event after claiming from Wellington the hosting rights for the New Zealand leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
Hamilton was announced yesterday as the new host of the event after years of dwindling crowd numbers finally brought to an end Wellington’s 18-year tenure of the rugby sevens event.
Messam was confident Hamilton would “turn it on” for the event that will be held in the Waikato in both 2018 and 2019, when NZ Rugby’s licence for the leg on the World Series came to an end. The All Blacks flanker’s comment came at the announcement of the venue switch, celebrated in Hamilton with cake, Moet champagne and discussion on costumes to be worn in 2018.
