The promotion started yesterday and it will end on July 1. The winners will be announced on July 2.

The Fijian Elections Office is giving away a Samsung S8 Plus and four tablets to students as part of its promotions.

All a student has to do is take a selfie or selfie video of himself/herself or in a group with their voter registration card and post it on the Fijian Elections Office Facebook page.

The photo/video with the most likes will win the Samsung S8 plus mobile and the next four most likes will get the four Samsung S8 tablets.

The competition is for students above the age of 18 and who have a voter registration card.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem said: “Fijian Elections Office has created a competition within the national drive among schools and students to allow for more active participation in the exercise and incentives such as latest smart phones and tablets are being given so that we can draw as many students into the exercises as possible.

“So from our end we would like to at least have every citizen as registered and they can choose whether they want to vote or not but it is very important that everybody registers otherwise the situation will arise that the person will not be allowed to vote if they are not registered on the day of elections.

“That is why we want to encourage all Fijians to become eligible in due course to register and having being registered then they are able to decide whether they want to vote.

“But in 2018 the Fijian Elections Office suggests everybody to come and vote.”

The promotion started yesterday and it will end on July 1.
